Information Previously Published About Changes to Meet

On Tuesday, January 18, the District III committee approved several dates, formats and other considerations for winter tournaments and championships this season.

The District III Swimming and Diving Championships will be broken up into four different locations this year and three different dates. The Class AA diving championships will be on February 24 at Big Spring and the Class AAA diving championships will be on February 27 at Wilson. The Class AA swimming championships will be at Central York and the Class AAA swimming championships will be at Cumberland Valley, with both set for Saturday, March 6. The girls’ championships will be in the morning and boys will be in the afternoon (additional details about this single session format by gender yet to be announced).

The number of qualifiers will be cut down for the swimming championships for the 2020-21 Season. There will only be 12 divers by class and gender and only 12 swimmers per event by class and gender. Only eight relay teams will qualify per event, with each school permitted one alternate. The races will be conducted in several different heats, with the individual events held in three heats in four alternating lanes and the relays held in two heats with four alternating lanes.

The times below indicate the 12th fastest individual time and the 8th fastest relay time entering the District III AA Swimming Championship Meet last season. These are guidelines based on last season's entry times and should NOT be misunderstood as qualifying standards.
