Notes from the Meet Director:

ENTRANCE - Please plan to use the covered Main Side Entrance at Northern High School and not the Natatorium Entrance.

SWIMMER (TEAM) AREA....MAIN GYM - In light of the fact that this meet continues to see a record number of swimmers entered for the Plunge, all swimmers will be in the Main Gym off of the lobby where the concession stand is located, instead of our wrestling/auxiliary gym. The meet host is going to leave all pool deck space OPEN that is not being used by coaches, so when swimmers are not competing or cheering, they'll need to be in the Main Gym. Any time a swimmer is not in the swimming pool area, they MUST have shoes/flipflops on their feet and are asked to wear a shirt. Teams will also NOT be allowed to set up in the hallway just outside the shallow end of the pool. That area needs to be kept clear, except for parents that may want to stand there during a break from the pool area. We plan to use a PA system in the Main Gym to periodically announce which event and heat we're on in the meet so the swimmers know to get to the pool in time for their swims. As before, we will not have a seeding process. All swimmers will need to get themselves to the blocks in time for their swims.

WALKING BETWEEN THE POOL AND MAIN GYM - As stated above, when a swimmer walks from the pool to the gym, they must have something on their feet (for health and safety reasons) and boys must have a shirt on. For safety reasons, we ask swimmers to PLEASE take a towel with them to the pool for their swims so they can dry off properly after their swims and BEFORE going back into the hallway to walk back to the gym. We need your help avoiding any hazards with water in the hallways.

LOCKER ROOMS FOR SWIMMERS - In addition to being able to use the smaller swimming pool locker rooms, your swimmers will be able to use the locker rooms off of the main gym for changing. If they're going to put things in a locker, we ask them to bring and use their own lock.

COACHES AREA - Again this year coaches are encouraged to bring a folding chair and sit on the deck along the far side of the pool where our Pool Office and locker room doors are located.

SPECTATOR WAITING AREA - In order that there is room for spectators in the stands to be able to watch their swimmers swim their events, we're encouraging spectators - between their swimmers' events - to hang out in our Cafeteria. There will also be tables in the concession stand lobby for people to sit down and eat food they purchase from our stand. Spectators are asked to NOT set up any chairs in the hallway near the shallow end of the pool.

Jim Buck, entries coordinator, will send a meet warm up plan for teams during the week prior to the Plunge. In addition to the pre-meet warmups, there are breaks throughout the meet for swimmers to get in the water when awards are being presented.
