Last year, swimmer Ellie Brenner organized a team service project benefiting Penn State Hershey Medical Center’s Child Life program, and it was such a success that we are going to pursue it again this year! This project will serve a need in our community and hopefully bring the team together for a wonderful cause.
This year, we will be structuring the project a bit differently in order for all team members to have the opportunity to participate. We are asking each family to please donate $10 (can be given to Ellie Brenner, during school or homeroom 108). The money will then be used to purchase items that are on Hershey’s Child Life wish list. Please place your donation in an envelope with your name on it. Larger donations are welcome, but not expected.
Tentatively, the team will gather after practice at Central Penn on Friday, December 9 to assemble gift bags, toys, etc. for the hospitalized children. More information will follow as the beginning of the swim season approaches. The deadline for the monetary donations is Friday, December 2.
