As was discussed during our pre-season planning meeting, the coaches would like to create opportunities for the team to come together away from the pool. Based on feedback team members provided via the online questionnaire, over 60% of respondents indicated they would like to return to the Field of Screams this year.
Please plan to join your teammates on Sunday, October 13. There is no school on Monday, October 14 so this was identified as an ideal date for all members to attend.
Samples of the team's warm-up jacket and pants (small, medium, large) will be available to try on at 2:45 on Wednesday, October 16 in the school's cafeteria.
Please be prepared to try on items and hand in an order or simply drop off your completed order form and payment if you already know your sizes.

Members of the Swimming & Diving program (athletes and parents) have the opportunity to sell baked goods at this season's last regular season home football game vs CD East on Friday, October 18. We will need lots of baked goods and plenty of help from our parents and swimmers to make this fundraiser a success. Incoming freshmen are always welcome to help!

All wreath and green advance purchase orders are due no later than 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23. Payments are not required when submitting orders.
Bishop McDevitt swimmers and divers are invited to a pumpkin carving event at the Sweeney residence on Sunday, October 27 from 1-4 p.m. Please bring your own pumpkin. Carving tools will be provided.

The Mid Penn Swimming and Diving Rules meeting for coaches will be held on Monday, October 28 at 6:45 p.m. in Cumberland Valley’s Cafeteria. The rules interpretation meeting will follow at 7:15 p.m.
Members of the Swimming & Diving team have been assigned to run the main concession stand during the home football game on Friday, November 1 (First Round of District 3 Playoffs).
The team will receive a portion of the profits generated from sales during the game. Members of the Swimming & Diving will need to provide volunteers to prepare and serve food and drinks. A volunteer list broken down by shifts is provided below.
Stadium gates open at 5:30. We will need several volunteers during "shift #1" to arrive at 5:00 to begin set-up and food preparation.
An informational meeting for all divers and their parents will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2 at the Derry Township Pool. Please meet in the bleachers of the pool area. This meeting will be run by Coach John Ricci. Please direct any questions about this meeting to Coach Ricci.

Bishop McDevitt swimmers, divers, parents, alumni, and friends of the program are invited to a team fundraiser and social on Monday, November 4 at the Underdog Sports Bar & Grill on Rt 22, 6197 Allentown Blvd.
15% of any dine-in or take out order on this day will benefit the McD swimming and diving program. Coaches will be at the Underdog at approximately 6:30.

First Unofficial Swim Practice
First unofficial practice for the 2024-25 season is TENTATIVELY scheduled for Wednesday, November 6. Any student new to the team will be strongly encouraged to attend all unofficial practices. All team members are welcome to attend unless provided with other instructions.
Practices will be held every Monday-Friday from 3:45-6:00 p.m. at the Central Penn Fitness Center.
Please view and order items in the team's spirit wear store. The deadline to order items is Sunday, November 10.

Winter sport physical packets and recertification forms are posted on the Swimming & Diving team website (below). If a student is not currently competing in a fall sport, the full physical packet must be completed. If a student is already in a fall sport, only the recertification form needs to be completed.
Families have the option of having a physical completed by their personal doctor.
